Canon Solutions America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc., has announced its extended commitment to working with veterans through the first annual Veteran Outreach Open House. The event, which took place at Canon Solutions America’s Park Avenue, New York office, offered veterans the opportunity to learn from executives and speak directly to Human Resources representatives about potential rewarding careers with the company. Canon Solutions America’s event was held in conjunction with Wounded Warrior Project, an organization designed to provide the most successful, well-adjusted generation of veterans and service members in our nation’s history.
“Unemployment and underemployment are big challenges for today’s generation of veterans,” said Cammie Coker, employment specialist for Wounded Warrior Project. “Canon Solutions America has shown its commitment to helping solve this problem by bringing veterans in and connecting them with career prospects. I am proud to be a part of the first open house event, and am looking forward to working closely with Canon Solutions America on future opportunities.”
Joining Wounded Warrior Project at the event were several other leading organizations supporting veteran employment and assisting in the recruitment process. Each of those organizations sent representatives to help support the open house event and provide valued experience to helping veterans find rewarding careers after serving our country.
Focused on providing veteran guests an exclusive, first-hand look at some of Canon’s many technologies, an all-encompassing showroom tour in the Park Avenue facility was provided during the open house event, which showcased the breadth of industries the company supports. Following the showroom tour was the ability for each veteran to participate in face-to-face interviews with Canon Solutions America Human Resources representatives.
“These veterans have earned the opportunity to meet and hear from some of Canon Solutions America’s top leaders as they prepare for a new path and a new career,” said Anthony Cannon II, a veteran himself and human resources talent acquisition specialist with Canon Solutions America. “It was an honor and privilege to spend the day with our valued veteran guests and be a part of their journey to finding a successful career post-service. We are fully committed to providing veterans opportunities like our open house event that can help shape and form a new career path.”
Canon Solutions America plans to expand its inaugural open house event to other locations across the country in the coming months. These important and empowering events will also be held in conjunction with Wounded Warrior Project.
