Karin Eaton, former executive director of the Ontario Sign Association, has been named executive director of the Sign Association of Canada/Association Canadienne De L’Enseigne. Eaton joins SAC-ACE as part of a newly announced partnership between SAC-ACE and the International Sign Association in which ISA will oversee management of the association and Sign Expo Canada.
Before leading the Ontario Sign Association, Karin was the director of government relations for SAC-ACE; she will use her expertise in this area to increase the relevance of SAC-ACE to the sign, graphics and visual communications industry in Canada.
“I’m thrilled to be returning to SAC-ACE at this exciting time,” Karin said. “The new alliance with ISA will bring stronger programs to SAC-ACE members, particularly in the areas of advocacy, workforce development and events. I look forward to continuing to work with members, to hear how together we can explore new opportunities and solve challenging issues.”
Carl Weger, SAC-ACE president, said Karin’s leadership abilities as well as her established excellent working relationships with regional and chapter boards will be a benefit to SAC-ACE membership.
“Karin is the ideal leader for SAC-ACE at this time,” Weger said. “She brings expertise in one of the areas that impacts our members most—government relations—and understands the issues at the provincial association level well. I know that she will help grow SAC-ACE as we continue to develop programs for our members.”
“Karin’s appointment as SAC-ACE executive director will ensure a seamless transition as ISA assumes management of SAC-ACE,” said Lori Anderson, ISA president and CEO. “With Karin’s leadership and ISA’s resources will help build a stronger North American sign, graphics and visual communications industry.”
Sign Expo Canada will be held September 18-19 in Mississauga, ON.
