University of Notre Dame Stadium Project
A notable, large-scale plaques and letters project Gemini had the opportunity to be involved in was the University of Notre Dame ’s Campus Crossroads and Stadium renovation. Chicago-based Cardosi Kiper Design Group partnered with 12 different sign fabricators and Gemini to bring their design concept to life. Over 4,000 signs and 750 thematic graphic elements were implemented throughout the stadium and Crossroads buildings.
Hundreds of Gemini plaques, cast letters, and fabricated metal letters and logos were specified by the design firm and their fabrication partners, and were installed in a number of stadium applications, ranging from the football locker room to ballrooms, academic facilities, club level venues, public concourses, the athletic director’s box, and at all gate areas.
In the extensive honors and recognition area of the stadium, Gemini plaques are featured to pay tribute to the most honored football program in NCAA history. These highlight Notre Dame’s current 101 All-Americans, 52 College Football Hall of Fame members, 7 Heisman Trophy winners and 11 National Championship teams. Each player and team is recognized with a Gemini precision-tooled brass plaque, and a second plaque was provided to each honoree’s family.
