Founded in July 1963 by Joe Thompson, Laminators Incorporated is a family-owned and operated business now in its third generation with David Thompson as president and CEO, Garrett Thompson as vice president of Sales and Marketing, and Scott Thompson as take-off support for Construction Services. In sixty years, Laminators Incorporated has become a leading manufacturer of a complete line of high-quality composite panels for the commercial construction, sign making, and OEM industries in the United States and Canada.
Originally founded as a panel manufacturer for chalk boards and bulletin boards, Laminators Inc. has evolved and entered various markets throughout its history making panels such as swing doors for truck trailers, above-ground pools, and for temporary housing camps. These panels were the forerunners of their architectural and sign products supplied to the industry today.
In the 1980s, Laminators Incorporated entered the commercial construction industry and launched the first of many architectural panels to come. Wanting to expand into other markets, they entered the professional sign making industry by launching LusterBoard™ and Omega SignBoard™ sign panels in the early 1990s followed by Alumalite™, one of today’s most popular sign products, a few years later.
As their sign business continued to grow, Laminators Incorporated then introduced their most popular architectural products to date, Omega-Lite® ACM panels and Thermolite™ insulated glazing panels in the late 1990s.
Shortly after, as the product catalog grew, they developed various installation systems for their architectural panels—including, their field-fabricated systems 1-Piece, Tight-Fit Molding and Clip & Caulk, and their shop-fabricated systems Dry Seal and Rout & Return—making Laminators Incorporated one of the few ACM manufacturers that offers a fully designed, tested, and supported panel and installation system.
Fast forward to 2023, Laminators Incorporated now has three divisions—Architectural Systems, Sign Panels, and OEM Solutions being their newest division launched in 2019—as well as 20 different composite panels, six proprietary installation systems, and over 60 standard colors and finishes, not including their unlimited custom colors for corporate ID projects.
The company also offers various services—including fabrication, take-offs, ACM shop drawings, and installer training. These high-quality products, systems, and services have saturated the market for the last sixty years.
“As we celebrate our sixtieth anniversary, I feel proud and blessed when I look back at the journey of these momentous and remarkable years,” says President & CEO David Thompson. “We couldn’t have done it without the support from our dedicated customers throughout the last six decades. Our commitment to provide high-quality products, innovative application solutions, and exceptional customer service has helped us build long-term relationships with our customers.
“The many years to come will be exciting and packed with new achievements.”
