The Digital Signage Experience took place in Las Vegas at the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center on December 9 and 10. The show featured innovative companies from all aspects of the digital signage industry from content management, to connectivity, to parts, to LED screens and more. One interesting theme, aside from the ever-increasing experiential LED trend, was the emergence of table-based touchscreen technology.

Walking into the show, it was great to talk to TSI Touch’s director of marketing Tifanie Tiberio as she explained the digital signage protective services and touchscreen capabilities the company offered. Their presence at the show was impressive as they were the first booth one saw when entering the show floor.

Digital Signage Content and Connectivity

One thing was clear after walking the floor: the content development and management options for digital signage are quite expansive these days. With AI-integration and drag and drop features, your digital signage customers can easily make the most of their digital signage installations with some great content. Companies like brandvisionHD, American Eagle, Stats Perform and more offered registrants insight on their content generation capabilities.

Stats Perform, for example, has a large team that consumes all sports and offers bottom line ticker information for digital signage, among other things. American Eagle handles the user interfaces for all United Airlines’ digital signage and more. It was impressive to see the list of clients (hospitals, universities, airports, etc.) that utilize these types of services in their digital signage programs.

Digital signage connectivity providers like RYARC offered great insight into the capabilities behind digital signage connectivity. They offer secure and scalable connectivity options that are backed by a strong support. Actineon was similarly impressive in this realm, and they offer connectivity solutions outside of LTE and Wifi, utilizing classic technology from the television realm.

Impressive Tech

Ideum’s “table”-based touchscreen digital signage products really impressed me. The company does everything from the manufacturing of their equipment to content generation, and they work with some major universities and museums to bring an impressive wayfinding and informational angle to digital signage. Liz Richardson, the manager of sales and marketing, was nice enough to give me a very thorough rundown of the company’s offerings and I walked away extremely impressed with their equipment.

SNA Displays was one of the major digital signage players at DSE 2024, and their crew donned some welcoming Christmas sweaters as they doled out information to interested attendees. SNA has seemingly done it all when it comes to digital signage, from massive OOH ads to casinos to major sports arenas. The company clearly stays on the forefront of the industry and is utilizing the top technology available.

Immersive Installations

Clear LED stopped most show attendees in their tracks with their Transparent LED Display that can do it all. The technology can be applied flat up against the storefront of a retail store to allow passersby to see inside when the LED is turned off, but when turned on it can transform the window to display extremely impressive custom messages via LED.

When not laid flat up against the window, the displays, available in wall, film, mesh, net and glass, can be arranged in a large three dimensional box structure to create an unforgettable experience digital signage experience when in wall form. See the LED walls in action here.

In a similarly impressive vein, fulldome.pro was showcasing their immersive and experiential 360 Projections Dome. These domes, which look like canvas igloos from the outside, have 3D projection technology installed within the dome that allows one to feel encapsulated by a company’s content and marketing materials.

The domes are also great for immersive art experiences at events like music festivals and offer companies from all industries an impressive differentiator on a trade show floor. Upon entering the dome, which is available in many different sizes, you have no choice but to be impressed and immersed in targeted, custom content.

I left the show expecting 2025 to be quite the year for digital signage. The options sign shops have to work with continue to expand and the capabilities become more and more impressive as technology and AI advance. The future of the digital signage space was on display in Vegas at DSE 2024.
