Mimaki USA, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and cutters, announces the release of the CG-AR Series, a new series of cutting plotters. For more than thirty years, the signage industry has come to rely on the original CG Series for its accuracy. “As times change, our customers need shorter delivery times, the cutting of more diversified materials, and beginner-friendly operability,” says Mimaki USA. “The new CG-AR Series answers that call as a reasonably priced entry-level cutting plotter with improved usability, combining more advanced performance and the ability to handle a wide range of materials.”

These new plotters are available in two sizes with different cuttable areas: CG-60AR (606 mm wide cuttable area) and CG-130AR (1,370 mm wide cuttable area). Mimaki USA has also designed them to have the highest cutting pressure in their class of 550g and a cutting speed of 105 percent compared with their conventional product (CG-SRIII series).

Increasing 50g of pressure allows the cutting of a wider range of materials, including PVC, fluorescent and reflective sheets, rubber sheets, and cardboard. Combined with a line-marking gauge for folding, the CG-AR Series is well equipped to create papercrafts and packages that could not be produced with the conventional models and expand the range of processable materials and the range of applications.

MimakiThe CG-AR Series offers a new level of usability that we haven’t seen before with the incorporation of Windows plotter drivers. Users can now send data directly from Microsoft Word, for example, without using design software such as Adobe® Illustrator® to perform the cutting. This allows you to cut and plot text and graphics with the same ease as using your general office printer. (Note: Please use the “FineCut/Coat9” plug-in cutting software to use detailed functions such as cut order control and cutting with register marks.)

Moreover support for “Mimaki Remote Access (MRA)” allows the operator to remotely use the machine and check its operation status. It would be possible through a smartphone (Note: available to iPhone with Android scheduled to apply in later time) or PC on the same network to operate the machine’s panel, check errors, and operational status of cutting progress, etc.

As an entry-level model that is easy to use by both existing and new users, the CG-AR Series cutting plotter delivers overwhelming cost performance to support your business further. This new product, suitable for a wide range of applications such as car wrapping, wall decoration, paper crafting, and packaging, in addition to signage applications such as stickers, labels, P-O-P, and signs, will be released worldwide in April 2022.
