International Sign Association President & CEO Lori Anderson received the Council of Manufacturing Association’s (CMA) Leadership Award, held during the CMA’s Winter Leadership Conference. The award, voted on by the recipients’ peers in the industry, is given annually to a chief staff officer who has done the most to further the CMA’s mission.
The Council of Manufacturing Associations, an arm of the National Association of Manufacturers, is comprised of more than 200 manufacturing trade associations in the United States that work together on behalf of the broader manufacturing sector.
“The success of an association depends largely on the involvement of its members. Because of organizations like ISA, the CMA has had another successful year in advancing the manufacturing agenda,” said NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons. “Under Lori’s leadership, ISA is setting a great example for manufacturers, most recently hosting numerous events throughout the country on Manufacturing Day to engage the public and help develop manufacturing leaders of the future. The NAM thanks Lori for her efforts and congratulates her on this well-deserved recognition.”
In recent years, the International Sign Association has been an active participant in NAM-sponsored programs. In 2013, ISA member sign companies participated in NAM’s Manufacturing Summit on Capitol Hill, discussing topics like healthcare and the economy with members of Congress and their staffs. In the fall, eight national sign companies opened up their doors as part of Sign Manufacturing Day, an NAM-ISA initiative, to improve workforce development by showcasing opportunities in the on-premise sign and visual communications industry to high school and college students.
“Lori is truly deserving of this award,” said ISA Chairman of the Board Chad Jones. “Her strong leadership has helped our association and the on-premise sign and visual communications industry be active participants in the National Association of Manufacturers and many of its programs. We know how valuable she is and it is exciting to see her recognized with this prestigious award.”
