Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, announces the winners of the Sign Design Contest, part of the annual Sales Expo held in their global headquarters in Brookings, South Dakota.
The winner for the 50-square-feet and larger category was Indigo Signs for their multi-sided sign for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota in Fargo.
The under-50-square-feet winner was Sign Shop Illuminated for the Space Foundation Discovery Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
“This was the largest Sign Design Contest since the pandemic,” says Jess Bern, Daktronics commercial marketing strategist, “and the entries were incredible. The structures were top notch, and we’re seeing a trend toward tighter pixel pitches with higher quality images in larger physical sizes.”
About This Year’s Winners
The 50-square-foot or larger winner for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota lies in the heart of the retail and business district of Fargo, North Dakota. It features a Daktronics GT6x 360-by-405 8mm display. It was created by Indigo Signs.
“This sign was developed in house with the help of our senior artist Greg Nelson and through the consultation with the customer and sales representative Jill Gustofson,” says Indigo Signs Director of Sales Dan Combs.
The under-50-square foot winner for the Space Foundation Discovery Center is designed to look like a space shuttle that’s ready to launch, incorporating a 216-by-108 10mm GT6x display.
“Our team getting recognized and honored at the national level speaks to the hard work they put in to help us get to this point, and I cannot thank them enough for everything they do,” says Sign Shop Illuminated business owner Louis DeSantis.
Winners of the Sign Design Contest were voted on by their peers during Sales Expo, a Daktronics event that takes place every September, gathering sign professionals together to network and learn.
