In 2018, Daktronics extends a partnership with SEGD (the Society for Experiential Graphic Design), which spans more than 10 years dating back to 2006. SEGD represents an outstanding community of creative individuals who are committed to quality and believe in connecting people to places by creating environments that improve the human experience – qualities that strongly align with Daktronics.
“More than 12 years ago we began our long-lasting partnership with SEGD,” said Steve Bayer, special projects director for Daktronics and former SEGD board member. “Daktronics is known for creating some of the world’s largest, never-been-done-before LED video screens. The ideas for those types of unique designs – that takes some creative thinking and SEGD has been the place we continually look to find and collaborate with those creative thinkers.”

“Very few technologies gain mass acceptance and appreciation without strong design partnerships,” said Clive Roux, SEGD CEO. “We believe deeply that a strong, close working relationship between SEGD and Daktronics, both leaders in their fields, brings great technology and design together to create magical experiences…and that is how an industry should work!”
As part of Daktronics 2018 Annual Industry Partnership, Daktronics will once again be the 2018 SEGD Conference Presenting Co-Sponsor at Experience Minneapolis, June 7-9 where the company will also provide a 4-millimeter line spacing video screen to use for the various presentations throughout the conference. Daktronics will also serve as the Session Sponsor for SEGD’s 2018 Branded Environments held in conjunction with DSE on March 27-28 in Las Vegas.
“I always come away from SEGD events fascinated with some of the projects that people are diving into and creating work that inspire the next generation of projects,” says Jeff Everson, Daktronics Spectaculars Applications Engineer and enthusiastic SEGD supporter. “These events lead to collaborative partnerships where we’re able to work closely with really intelligent people that brings out the best of what we do. These develop into solutions for clients that wouldn’t have been possible without SEGD.”
In addition, Daktronics announces a new webpage – www.daktronics.com/SEGD. The goal of the page is to share interesting and educational information about the creative possibilities of LED video with SEGD members. It will keep members current on some of the company’s unique projects as well as providing a direct one-on-one contact for any questions SEGD members may have about Daktronics technology solutions and how the company can help member’s ideas into realities.
