Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota, has been selected to design and manufacture a new LED marquee display for the Kansas City Convention Center (KCCC) in Missouri. The display was installed above the entrance of the building to welcome guests and to promote upcoming events.
“We are excited about the new installation of the Daktronics sign and the digital signage enhancement it brings to the Convention Center,” said Mike Young, KCCC deputy director. “The sign will be used almost exclusively to raise awareness and increase ticket sales for ticketed events. We have been very impressed with both the quality of the sign and the support staff at Daktronics.”
The new display features 10-millimeter line spacing and measures 7 feet tall-by-54 feet wide with full-color imagery to show event information, sponsorship messages and convention center news. It also features excellent image clarity and contrast with wide-angle visibility ensuring a great view to passersby.
“This is a great project that will bring new excitement to future events at Kansas City Convention Center,” said Ryan Kuzman, Daktronics sales representative. “We’re honored to be working with Turner Construction and KCCC on this exciting new project and we’re looking forward to the new displays making a positive impact on their patrons and visitors to the venue for many years to come.”
The Daktronics product incorporates industry-leading environmental protection to ensure maximum run-time for all of the convention center’s messages.
KCCC will also receive a bank of hours for the creation of digital content to be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services at the request of the venue.
