Lucite International, Inc., welcomes the culmination of its 2014 JUST IMAGINE Awards by announcing this year’s winner: Louvers by Design,” a custom home project located in a San Diego suburb. The eye-catching louvers made with LuciteLux® Frost in Glacier Green form part of a residential property project by Jeff Kull of Jeff Kull Construction in collaboration with Elliott Rabin of ePlastics®, a Ridout Plastics company.
Completed in late January 2014 in picturesque Point Loma, the house’s architectural plans called for louvers that would diffuse the direct, natural light coming into the two-story living room, while allowing people on the second floor to have a clear view of the Pacific Ocean.
LuciteLux Frost in Glacier Green proved to be the ideal choice, complementing the color and feel of the Pacific perfectly. Not only is it beautiful, but also strong and durable enough to withstand temperature extremes and all weathers—particularly important because of its exposed position on the second floor of the house.
Lucite International hosted a celebration in honor of ePlastics and Jeff Kull Construction on November 20 at The Pearl Hotel in San Diego. Elliott and team are featured in a making-of documentary about the project as on the well-known blog Design Milk.
Congratulations to the entire ePlastics team who helped bring this project to life, including Elliott Rabin, John Short, Howard Pierce, George Williams and Arthur Unwin. Congratulations also to Jeff Kull Construction for their magnificent collaboration on the “Louvers by Design” project.
