3M Industrial Adhesives & Tapes will be featuring two new solutions to the sign market at the ISA International Sign Expo, April 24-26 in Orlando, Florida. At the 3M booth, number 220, sign manufacturers will find adhesive and tape solutions that offer proven performance in replacing mechanical fasteners in sign assemblies.
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Low Odor Acrylic Adhesives DP8805NS and DP8810NS are next-generation Structural Acrylic Adhesives that provide dramatic improvements over conventional high-odor acrylics. In addition to providing faster curing and higher performance than conventional acrylic adhesives, these low-odor acrylic adhesives can reduce worker irritation and ease EHS concerns. Suitable for use on structural framework of signs, the adhesives improve aesthetics and also reduce the potential for water intrusion and corrosion that comes with using mechanical fasteners. These adhesives are UL recognized for use in electrical signs and included in the SAM Manual.
Visitors to the booth can view demo videos and talk with 3M representatives about how these products can fit into their sign manufacturing applications.
3M™ VHB™ Tape 5952 will also be highlighted during the show for its indoor and outdoor applications in light box assembly, panel-to-frame bonding, mounting letters and decorative trim, and bracket attachment. The strong hold and durability of 3M VHB Tape have been proven for many years in the transportation and construction industries, and now 3M VHB Tape 5952 is opening up new material options for sign manufacturers, providing permanent bonding of a broad range of materials from metals to plastics.
By using 3M VHB Tape 5952 to replace mechanical fasteners, manufacturers can not only create more sleek and modern designs, but can also use thinner, less expensive materials. Additionally, the immediate bond provided by the tape provides outstanding convenience in the manufacturing process.
The tape is available in both white and black, giving users flexible aesthetic options.
