Aurora Specialty Textiles Group, Inc. (ASTG) is honored to receive the 2013 SGIA Sustainability Recognition Award for the third consecutive year.
Specialty Graphics Imaging Association (SGIA) created the Sustainability Recognition Awards to recognize member companies that develop a sustainable business ethic, requiring a strong commitment from not only company management, but also its workforce. Awards are presented annually to facilities that qualify based upon submission of required program information and the facility’s sustainability policy.
Aurora Specialty Textiles Group, Inc. has a long-term sustainability vision, which includes investments in capital projects, reduction of gas and electrical consumption, and reducing steam trap and air line leaks. The end result will be less energy required and lower emissions. According to Mike Richardson, director of Sales/Marketing-Print Media, “We have not only recognized higher than expected operational savings by updating assets, but also improved our operational working conditions, such as air quality. It is a win, not only for Aurora, but also for our surrounding environment.”
