Avery Dennison announces the launch of the second annual “Wrap Like a King” Challenge featuring Avery Dennison® Supreme Wrapping Films, a full spectrum of 78 opaque cast films in a wide range of colors and finishes used for color change vehicle wraps. Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions is hosting the competition with supporting sponsors, West Coast Customs and Croftgate USA.
“Wrap Like a King” is a competition for professional vehicle wrap installers to show off their skills by creating unique, well-installed car wraps with Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping Film between April 1 and September 15. Submissions entered in the Challenge will be considered for the Judge’s Award and the Fan Favorite Award, which will be announced on October 13.
“The number of wrap projects and the quality of the installations we received in 2013 impressed everyone involved in the Challenge,” said Erin Harmon, North America segment manager, Graphics Solutions at Avery Dennison. “Since the Challenge ended in 2013, more than twenty new colors and finishes, including satin, pearlescent, and new chrome colors have been added to the Supreme Wrapping Film line, with more to come. We’re excited to see what the wrap community will do with these new films for the 2014 ‘Wrap Like a King’ Challenge.”
After all submissions are entered by September 15, seven professional judges will choose the top 32 car wraps to move to the next round for a chance to win the two grand prize packages that include a trip to the 2014 SEMA Show. The Judge’s Choice Award will be chosen by the judge’s panel, while car enthusiasts and fans of the competition will choose the Fan Favorite Award winner, from the thirty-two top wraps, through four rounds of public voting that begins on September 19 at www.wraplikeaking.com.
Voters have a chance to win a grand total of $5,000 in prizes. All voters, from all rounds, will be entered into a drawing to win a grand prize of a $150 Croftgate gift card. Voters will also be chosen randomly in each round of voting to win multiple Croftgate gift cards.
Judges for the competition include:
- Ryan Friedlinghaus, founder and CEO of West Coast Customs
- Kevin Putnam, lead designer and social media manager at West Coast Customs

“This is the second year of Avery Dennison’s ‘Wrap Like a King’ Challenge; with new innovative products and up and coming designers, this year is expected to reach new levels in what’s possible with the Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping Film,” said Ryan Friedlinghaus of West Coast Customs. “I am excited to see this unfold.”
“When I was asked to be a judge for this year’s ‘Wrap Like a King’ Challenge, I was truly floored. I saw the wraps at SEMA last year and was very impressed,” said Frank DeFeo, national sales director at Croftgate USA. “To be a judge, is an honor. I look forward to working with Avery Dennison, West Coast Customs, and the other judges in choosing the 2014 ‘King of Wraps.’”
