Badlands Pawn Gold & Jewelry selected Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota, as a local provider of their new LED video display installed late in 2015. Used for branding and advertising on a daily basis, the display is also used as a backdrop for concerts to show Badlands TV video and band logos.
“This project needed to be huge; over the top!” said Badlands Pawn Owner Chuck Brennan. “I wanted people to walk in and not think that they’re in Sioux Falls, and the enormous Daktronics display definitely makes a grand statement when you first walk in the building.”
The display features 4 millimeter line spacing and measures approximately 14 feet high-by-24 feet wide for a total of 325 square feet of active video display space. It provides crisp, clear imagery with high resolution and incorporates wide viewing angles to appeal to a broad audience.
“We try to use local companies as vendors as often as possible and having the world leader in video displays right up the road certainly helps,” added Brennan “Daktronics staff was great and let us see several different configurations and resolutions of displays so that we could see exactly what we wanted.”
Receiving the exact resolution desired for this project, Badlands Pawn has seen success using the display at recent concerts and has more events lined up for future use. The versatility of the product allows Badlands Pawn to host a wide variety of events in addition to concerts and use for daily branding messages.
Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with consistent, industry-leading performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
