Canon Solutions America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc., has announced developments to its collaboration with Colex Finishing—the U.S. manufacturer of the Colex Sharpcut finishing solution. Under the newest agreement, Canon Solutions America will begin offering the Colex® Sharpcut™ Digital Finishing Systems in addition to the previously announced Fotoba brand of large format XY cutters. This new offering developed by Colex is poised to help automate print service providers’ workflow while reducing costs associated with the finishing process of large format jobs.
“This valued collaboration has enabled us to expand on our portfolio of product offering to an emerging and growing flatbed market,” said Sal Sheikh, vice president, Marketing, Large Format Solutions, Canon Solutions America. “This continued relationship between Canon Solutions America and Colex Finishing is key to our customers’ success as it allows them to not only reduce finishing costs but increase their productivity and maximize the full potential of their flatbed printers.”
“Canon Solutions America recognizes the significance of this collaboration, especially during this exciting time in the flatbed market. We have begun to see unprecedented technology opening the doors to new opportunities for print providers enabling then to tap into new revenue streams,” added Sheikh.
As the need to identify new easy-to-use solutions for the flatbed market emerged, Canon Solutions America worked to develop partnerships that addressed three critical elements: versatility, speed, and accuracy. Additionally, with the launch of the Colex Sharpcut, the company’s Large Format Solutions division now provides customers a solution that will help reduce costs and turnaround time on short-run applications, decrease labor costs, provide accurate edge quality, and turn outsourced jobs into in-house revenue opportunities. Designed with a multitude of progressive features, the Colex Sharpcut also offers optional add-on tools that are available for customization of a user’s cutter to suit specific needs or workflow demands.
“Those looking for a solution that can meet the demands associated with versatility, speed, accuracy, and affordable price can look to the Colex Sharpcut as an answer,” confirmed Sheikh. “The evolution of the market demands that we provide our customers with a finishing system capable of providing excellent throughput, productivity, and speed without sacrificing quality. The Colex Sharpcut is prepared to help meet those requirements while offering the ability to produce a wider range of applications on a unique variety of materials.”
