Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, is honored to be recognized by top industry organizations and publications for award-winning products and efforts in 2014. From environmental efforts to help minimize its carbon footprint, to industry-leading imaging products, Canon has been honored by many top accolades for its efforts both in the market and in the office.
The Canon Americas Headquarters was awarded LEED® Gold certification, a recognition of design, construction, operations and maintenance of high-performance green buildings. Located in Melville, N.Y., the facility stands as a model for environmental stewardship and innovation and serves all North, Central and South American countries. Interbrand and Newsweek also acknowledged Canon for its environmental sustainability efforts. Canon was placed 26th out of 50 on Interbrand’s Best Global Green Brands 2014, and 125th out of 500 on Newsweek’s 2014 Green Rankings, placing the company in the top 25 percent for this year’s Newsweek’s list. Additionally, Canon Inc. has been placed on Fortune Magazine’s 2014 World’s Most Admired Companies List as sixth overall globally in the computers category. And, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce honored Canon with its Global Intellectual Property Center’s 2014 IP Champions Award for its “Anti-Counterfeit Consumer Awareness Campaign” that highlights the dangers of counterfeit electronic goods.

Camera and Printer Awards
In the first half of 2014, Canon received several awards across their consumer and professional line of cameras and printer products. Most recently, Professional Photographer Magazine announced their annual “Hot One” Awards covering a wide array of categories for professional cameras, printers, accessories, and applications. Five Canon products received a “Hot One” Award this year, including, the PIXMA iP8720 photo inkjet printer, PIXMA Printing Solutions (PPS) featuring innovative “cloud” printing capabilities, the EF 200-400mm f/4 L IS USM Extender 1.4x telephoto zoom lens, the EOS 70D Digital SLR camera, and the EOS Rebel T5i Digital SLR camera.
In addition, other awards Canon received throughout the first half for their consumer and professional line of cameras and printer products include the following: PCMag.com honored Canon with its Highly Rated Award for three products, including the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM zoom lens, the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM zoom lens, and PowerShot G1 X Mark II digital camera, and for the 11th consecutive year the readers of PCmag.com also voted for Canon to receive the Readers Choice Award for Printer service and reliability. Canon received Editor’s Choice Awards from several outlets, including two for camera and one for printer from PCMag.com, two from Digital Trends for printer and one for camera, one from DPReview for camera, and one from Computer Shopper for printer. Additionally, Trip Advisor readers awarded Canon with the “Travelers Choice Award for Cameras,” and Demystifying Digital honored the PowerShot S120 digital camera with its “Best of the Best” award.
Canon took home several awards at the 2014 National Association of Broadcasters Trade Show (NAB) that was held from April 11th-14th in Las Vegas, Nevada. The new CINE-SERVO 17-120mm T2.95 zoom lens received two awards, including the Production HUB 2014 NAB Award of Excellence, and the NAB Post Magazine “Pick” Honorable Mention. Church Production honored Canon’s XF205 Professional Camcorder as one of their Top 5 Products for NAB 2014.
Business Solutions Awards
Buyers Lab LLC (BLI), a leading imaging industry analyst for multifunction, copier, printer, scanner and software solutions, honored Canon with awards across Canon’s imageCLASS, imagePROGRAF, imageRUNNER and imageRUNNER ADVANCE series of printer models. Twice a year, BLI recognizes printing hardware and software that deliver outstanding performance within their respective industry categories. Most recently Canon received five Summer 2014 “Pick” awards for three multi-function printers including the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7260 MFP, imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4251 MFP, imageRUNNER ADVANCE 8205, and two software solutions including the Scan to Worldox Solution, and the Intelligent Grading Solution.
Other 2014 awards from BLI include the 2014 Wide Format Graphic Arts Printer Line of the Year for its eight and twelve color imagePROGRAF printer models, and the 2014 Most Energy-Efficient A4 Line of the Year for its Multi-Function Printers. Additionally Canon received 11 Winter 2014 “Pick” awards across the imageCLASS, imagePROGRAF, imageRUNNER and imageRUNNER ADVANCE series of printer models and software solutions.
