The Roland Creative Awards are open from September 21-December 31, 2011 to global users of Roland equipment. Entries will be judged on creativity, innovation, and execution in each of fourteen regions representing 123 countries. More than 75 prizes will be awarded worldwide.
“We owe our success to our loyal customers and are excited about the opportunity to share their creative achievements with the world through the Roland Creative Awards,” said Dave Goward, president and CEO of Roland DGA Corp., Roland DG’s U.S.-based subsidiary. “Whether it’s a unique application for Roland technology, a beautiful vehicle wrap, or eye-catching jewelry design, the contest presents an excellent opportunity for Roland customers to showcase their best projects. Thirty years is a true milestone, and during this time our customers have produced some amazing work.”
Across the Americas, Roland will host two regional contests, one serving customers in the US, Canada, and Guam, and the other serving customers across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Entrants will be competing for the following prizes:
- Monthly People’s Choice Awards – One top entry per region will be selected each month (Oct., Nov. and Dec.) to take home an Apple 16 GB iPad2 — the best device for every designer on the go — and sleek over-ear Roland stereo headphones.
- Honorable Mention Awards – Two contest finalists will be named in each region and will win a Dell laptop computer, complete with CorelDRAW Suite.
- Regional Awards –Winners receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Japan to celebrate 30 years with Roland and compete for the global grand prize in April 2012.
- Worldwide Grand Prize – The regional winners from around the globe qualify for the grand prize, their choice of a Roland machine — a VersaCAMM VS-420 printer/cutter, an EGX-360 gift engraver, a JWX-30 jewelry model maker, or an MDX-40A milling machine.
Judging for the worldwide competition will take place in April 2012 during Roland’s 30th Anniversary Celebration, which will be held at the company’s global headquarters in Hamamatsu, Japan.
