Civilight North America is proud to announce that it has been recognized with a special engineering award from the respected Lighting for Tomorrow committee for its ENERGY STAR®-qualified Professional 3-watt Crystal Candelabra lamp.
Since its inception in 2002, Lighting for Tomorrow has continued to challenge lighting manufacturers to develop residential lighting products that both incorporate advances in energy efficiency with sleekness and beauty of design. The 2015 judging panel evaluated more than 120 lighting products, including indoor and outdoor fixtures, replacement lamps and control devices, in the categories of decorative lighting, retrofit kits, LED replacement lamps and lighting controls.
“We are honored to be awarded with this special engineering recognition from Lighting for Tomorrow for our crystal candelabra,” said Jeffrey E. Lagaly, CEO of Civilight North America. “Receiving this award is another testament to Civilight North America’s commitment to providing superior LED replacement lamps that offer industry advancements in terms of both design and energy efficiency. We continue to listen to our customers and are thrilled that the judges’ comments reflected what our design team had worked so hard on with the lamp’s unique sparkling aesthetic.”
This Civilight 3-watt Crystal Candelabra has a patented clear optical cover that emits a pure sparkling white light and a warm, distinctive ambiance in chandeliers, decorative lighting fixtures and wall sconces in residential, commercial and hospitality applications. The ENERGY STAR-certified lamp is an ideal retrofit for a 25-watt incandescent candelabra lamp, saving 85 percent in energy consumption. With smooth dimming and a 2700K (CCT), this lamp delivers more than 200 lumens and boasts a high efficacy of 75 and an incredible CRI of 93.
In the award brochure, the judges commented that, “The unique design and remarkable engineering enables this LED light bulb to emit pure, white light with the transparence and luminosity of traditional incandescent light.” View the judges’ video of the LED replacement lamp category at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdQIQyE7t7M&feature=youtu.be. Within the video, the judge described the Professional 3-watt Crystal Candelabra as having a nice sparkle to it. The judge went on to say that while most third generation LED lamps did not have that sparkle, this replacement lamp would look really nice in a chandelier where you’d like to emphasize that sparkle.
The winners were presented with awards at the American Lighting Association Annual Conference in Huntington Beach, California on Oct. 3. Lighting for Tomorrow is sponsored by the American Lighting Association, the Consortium for Energy Efficiency and the Underwriter’s Laboratories. Approximately a dozen energy efficiency organizations across the US and Canada participated in supporting the latest competition as co-sponsors.
