The International Sign Expo, hosted by the International Sign Association (ISA), is happening April 23-25 in Las Vegas. The Sherwin-Williams General Industrial Division is among key participants, showcasing innovative coatings proven to enhance efficiency in the sign industry at Booth 2810.

Sign manufacturers are constantly working to increase productivity while maintaining long lasting aesthetics and durability in their products. As one of the only manufacturer direct suppliers to the industry, Sherwin-Williams helps them do this not only through its use of automotive-grade pigments and urethane chemistries that deliver UV and weather protection, but also through its local support and dedicated technical service teams.

“Our sign coatings are designed to build lasting legacies for our customers,” said Paul Lewis, Sherwin-Williams General Industrial Program Manager. “But a big differentiator is our ongoing customer support. Our sales and technical service teams have helped customers overcome all types of challenges – from color matching to faster dry times. We’ve helped both large and small brands enhance the quality of their products while also increasing throughput, allowing them to scale operations and ultimately increase profitability.”

At the show, Sherwin-Williams is showcasing the GENESIS® Lustral coatings system, a trusted solution in the sign industry because of its fast dry times and outstanding resistance to chalking and fading. Using automotive-grade pigments specially formulated to endure harsh, environmental exposure, these coatings stand up to the toughest standards while also streamlining efficiency in the finishing process. The Aurora™ Color Retrieval System also speeds up color matching with thousands of formulas included in one, easy-to-use online database—from the expansive Sherwin-Williams color portfolio and standard RALs, to 3M Vinyl, Pantone and competitor colors.

In one instance, Sherwin-Williams recommended GENESIS to a prominent sign manufacturer that needed to ramp up production to meet the demands of a growing customer base. This solution, along with training and support from local technical service teams, helped reduce necessary bake and dry times by 66%, allowing the company to go from project start to stack-and-ship in a third of the time it took with previous solutions. With dramatically faster cycle times, the company now has the potential to significantly increase throughput, reduce energy consumption and expand their overall profitability.

ISA attendees are encouraged to stop by the Sherwin-Williams booth (#2810) to find out how the global resources and local footprint of Sherwin-Williams can support their businesses. Company representatives will be there to answer any questions about the GENESIS Lustral coatings system, technical service and additional company offerings.
