Colter & Peterson’s Large Format Capabilities Take Center Stage at SGIA Expo

By the final day of SGIA 2013, Bruce Peterson knew he wanted to renew for this year’s SGIA Expo. The president of Colter & Peterson (booth 4016) was thrilled with the attention his company’s products commanded from show attendees and he knew what equipment he wanted to showcase next. When the gates open for the October 22-24 show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, North America’s largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment will emphasize its large format capabilities.

Colter & Peterson’s world class Saber® line of heavy duty paper cutters are supported by the industry leading Microcut® automated back gauge control system, which is fast approaching 35,000 worldwide installations. Company officials will also direct attention to the high performance robotic and guillotine systems from Schneider Engineering, which are available with loading and unloading features and many other benefits.

“Last year’s SGIA Expo in Orlando was very successful for us. We were more than pleased with the amount of booth traffic, the types of inquiries we had about our equipment, and the orders we wrote at the show and afterwards,” recalled Peterson.

“Based on the reaction we had for Microcut at last year’s show, I’m optimistic the Saber XXL and Saber X15 Plus series will connect with this crowd. We have built cutters up to 137 inches with these lines and they have many unique features that would appeal to the wide format arena. Saber performs very well with solid substrates such as styrene and corrugated plastic sheets, and no cutter on the market can match its ability to deliver a precise cut within 1/64th of an inch.”

Colter & Peterson’s reputation for manufacturing the industry’s most rugged and reliable paper cutters is second to none. Manufactured to ISO-9001 standards, Saber is a workhorse machine that ranges in size from 65-137″ and loaded with the newest technology. Some new features include an upgraded hydraulic system, cut optimization, automatic knife setting, and the availability of automatic waste removal.

Peterson noted a cutting edge electronic system has impressed customers from coast-to-coast and in Canada with its ability to improve processing time and eliminate timely bottlenecks during production. Saber comes equipped with a cost effective Microcut® system that includes a 15-foot operator touch screen. Four versions of Microcut are available and each automated, user-friendly program makes life easier for operators. It memorizes cutting sequences instantly so the backgauge will automatically position itself to deliver a precise cut each and every time.

Confident in its approach and ability to design unique products for customers, Colter & Peterson invites SGIA visitors to stop by the booth and challenge them to improve their backend operations. More information can be found at www.papercutters.com.
