Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota, announced today that the company has partnered with Futurad, a digital advertising solutions company, to complete the installation of the largest video display used in a commercial application in Latin America. The 595-square-meter display is currently being installed in Panama City as the fourth Daktronics installation for Futurad, who is rapidly growing their digital network in Panama.
“When we first had the idea of installing a LED Billboard of this size it was not only a challenge to find a location but as well to find a company that could provide us with the best solution possible, but In Daktronics we found this,” said Iván A. Vallarino Jr., President of Futurad. “We are very excited to finally turn on this dream of ours that will without a doubt become a landmark in the region.”
The display measures 35 meters high by 17 meters wide and features a 15HD pixel layout for excellent image clarity and contrast. The display is strategically positioned along the Corredor Sur, the South Freeway which directs traffic to the airport, and to a rapidly growing business district.
“Daktronics is very excited to partner with Futurad on such an iconic installation,” said Pete Egart, Daktronics VP of international sales. “We’re proud to showcase Daktronics LED technology for Panama and its visitors in such a great location.”
“These kinds of projects require a lot of planning and detail from structure to public relations,” said Erin Harvey, Daktronics representative in Panama. “Futurad is a great partner of ours and we’ve been able to execute this project successfully because they bring together a very professional team.”
