Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota, continues a long partnership with the Sioux Falls Sports Authority in conjunction with the Summit League for The Summit League At The Falls men’s and women’s basketball championships. The tournament is taking place at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, from March 5-8.
Daktronics is providing a 1.9 millimeter high resolution video display as a backdrop in the press room that will host the pre-tournament press conference on March 3 and all post-game interviews throughout the tournament. This higher resolution product is better received by television cameras and ideal for press backdrop applications.
“We’re excited that our high resolution product is going to be featured at the Summit League tournament in their press room,” said Jay Parker, Daktronics vice president of live events. “It’s a great stage to show the newer technology and applications that Daktronics has been developing to assist our customers. This video solution brings a greater level of flexibility in press conference settings especially with sponsors and what they can show behind whichever team or player is being interviewed.”
The 1.9 millimeter LED solution features low power consumption, long lifetime and better thermal management than the industry standard. This option is ideal for indoor digital signage applications that require crisp image quality at viewing distances as close as roughly four feet.
Consistent with previous years, Daktronics will also be providing a 4 millimeter video display for the Summit Lounge so people in that area of the arena can see the action while waiting for the next game or catch up on other games in between the live action.
Daktronics personnel will be onsite to operate all of the displays at the venue providing a game-day presentation to inform and entertain fans throughout the entire tournament. Daktronics Creative Services created digital content specifically for the press room display, but also produced content for displays throughout the venue including those seen by fans inside the seating bowl.
“We’re excited to continue our partnership with the Sioux Falls Sports Authority for the Summit League men’s and women’s basketball tournaments,” said Matt Warnke, Daktronics sales representative. “Our successful partnership with the Sports Authority has led to many exciting events over the years and the 2016 tournament is no exception. We’re excited to see the venue full of fans this weekend to watch basketball and receive an entertaining experience that we’ve had a hand in creating for them.”
The Denny Sanford PREMIER Center features a Daktronics LED video super system consisting of a 10-display centerhung configuration above the court, a 360-degree ribbon display along the seating fascia, two end wall displays and a marquee display at the main entrance of the facility.
