Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has manufactured and installed a new LED video display for Emerald Downs in Auburn, Washington. The installation provides the ability to easily follow along with the racing action, with a large emphasis on creating appeal for the younger audiences.
“It was important to have a display that would be reliable and provide high quality brightness and clarity during day and night, and we felt confident that Daktronics was a perfect fit,” said Emerald Downs President Phil Ziegler. “Aside from keeping up with trends at live sports venues, adding this display from Daktronics has allowed us to keep our audience engaged from start to finish and it has changed the way people interact with the races here at the race track.
“Instead of seeing excitement during the last few seconds of the race at the finish line, we’re seeing an excited audience throughout the race, especially in the kids that come out the track with their parents. The display caters to the future fans of the sport and will have an impact for many years to come.”
The display measures approximately 25 feet high-by-44.5 feet wide and features a 13HD pixel layout for excellent image clarity and contrast with wide-angle visibility to appeal to everyone at the race track. The display provides versatility in programming including showing games to entertain fans prior to races and then showing a live feed of the race as it is happening.
“It’s great to continue our partnership with Emerald Downs with this significant installation,” said Bo Ivers, Daktronics sales representative. “The new main video display provides a greater race viewing experience, and we look forward to seeing it enhancing racing events for years to come.”
