FLEXcon was recently honored with the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) Product of the Year Award. The company was named a winner in two categories for FLEXcon’s FLEXmark® floor art™ OV6604 (Safari Overlaminate) in the Finishing-Laminates, Adhesives, Films, Coatings category; and for FLEXcon’s COUNTERdeco™ 6322 Advertising System, in the FDA Indirect Food Compliant in the Media-Non-PVC (Non-woven) category, at this year;s SGIA Expo in Las Vegas. The competition recognized the latest equipment and supplies currently on the market that are advancing the specialty imaging industry.
“I am very proud of the FLEXcon team,” said Jodi Sawyer, Product Manager, Product Branding Business Team, FLEXcon. “Our work was compared to other products in both the Finishing-Laminates, Adhesives, Films, Coatings category and in the Media-Non-PVC (Non-woven) category, and we came out on top in both. We are proud that FLEXcon’s commitment to quality and innovation allowed us to secure these prestigious awards.”
Thirty-eight companies from around the world entered the competition, submitting eighty entries in twenty-one categories. “The Product of the Year Award Competition highlights the best technologies and consumables from the specialty imaging community,” said Jeff Burton, SGIA’s Digital Printing Analyst. “Entries were so good that judging category winners was a real challenge.”
FLEXmark ® floor art™ OV6604 (Safari Overlaminate) is a unique 23 mil Clear Safari overlaminate, resists heel punctures and offers improved clarity over traditional thicker gauged overlaminates. Dark and metalized colors look sharper and converting is more efficient, yielding cost savings. For the brand, this means their imagery and messaging stay intact for the life of their event or promotion.
FLEXcon’s COUNTERdeco™ 6322 base film and COUNTERdeco™ OP6325 overlaminate make up the non-vinyl “greener” system, which provides compliance and a smaller carbon footprint. The product supports end-users who want to implement “greener” initiatives for their promotional materials. This specialty 4 mil white polypropylene looks and feels like a vinyl. It offers opacity and superior printability via UV inks. The entire construction of the film adhesive liner is compliant, providing addition assurance should food come in contact with the adhesive side of a decal.
