FLEXcon, an innovator in adhesive coating and laminating, today announced its SEETHRU-SIGN® perforated film with an optically clear overlaminate was used to brand the exterior of AT&T Stadium for the 2015 Cotton Bowl Classic. FLEXcon worked with E.H. Teasley & Co./Inkjet International, custom printer for both indoor and outdoor advertising, to develop a solution for printing a large-scale advertisement for the Classic.
The 80th Cotton Bowl Classic, pitting the Alabama Crimson Tide against the Michigan State Spartans, was a critical game with a sold-out stadium. To highlight the grandeur of the game, the Classic turned to Teasley Company to wrap large doors and windows in both stadium end zones, totaling over 16,000 square feet, with an image of the Classic’s game logo and additional iconic sponsor elements.
This project posed many challenges, in terms of the sheer scale of the graphic, the fact that it would have to be both installed and removed on a short timeframe, and the need to abide by the stadium’s requirements. In addition, the graphic needed to be transparent without being washed-out by the sun and stadium lights.
“Working with FLEXcon for over 20 years, we immediately turned to them to find a solution that would fit the branding needs of the Classic, while abiding by all stadium regulations,” said Jeff Teasley, Owner, Teasley Company. “For this project, we needed a manufacturer to determine how different products would perform on the stadium doors and windows. We had to meet a number of stadium guidelines and FLEXcon ensured we used a product that was perfect for the project.”
Teasley Company decided to use FLEXcon’s SEETHRU-SIGN, a material that addressed all of its needs, including optical clarity for see-through viewing from the inside out and graphic visibility from the outside looking in. It also offered ease of installation. The installation team had only five days to install the graphic and one day to remove it, and they were able to do so with ease. In addition to having a short installation window, Teasley Company had to wait to print the window graphics until the competing teams were announced. SEETHRU-SIGN allowed for a clean install and seamless removal without any adhesive residue being left on the stadium doors and windows.
“We were honored to work with Teasley Company for branding at the Cotton Bowl Classic. We knew our product would meet the strict requirements of the stadium, enabling the installation of a large window graphic that covered the majority of the venue’s entrance,” said Steve Tomas, Director of Product Branding, FLEXcon. “We consulted with E.H.Teasley Company to understand the product and application requirements and together we delivered results that pleased the Classic, the stadium and fans.”
