At booth E22 during FESPA Brasil 2013, GMG Americas, a leading developer and supplier of high-end workflow and color management software solutions, will demonstrate solutions for wide format workflow, color management, and proofing for digital print. GMG will showcase ProductionSuite, a complete workflow solution for automated, standardized and color consistent wide-format production. Also on display will be GMG ColorServer and GMG SmartProfiler, color management tools that have helped wide format printers maintain accurate color using various print devices on the print shop floor. In addition, GMG will highlight its other software systems—for example, GMG ColorProof, GMG FlexoProof, GMG InkOptimizer, and GMG OpenColor that provide one, integrated color solution for companies offering hybrid printing including offset, flexo, screen printing, and small and large format digital printing.
FESPA Brasil 2013, to be held in Sao Paulo from March 13-16, is a dedicated exhibition for wide format and textile printing. Co-located with ExpoPrint Digital and co-organized with APS Fairs & Events, this tradeshow will bring print solution providers a comprehensive display of wide format print technologies, textile printing, garment decoration, screen printing, signage and digital signage.
GMG ProductionSuite is the proven quality solution for wide format workflows with predictable and repeatable results
Launched a year ago, GMG ProductionSuite is the most comprehensive production solution for large and wide format printing. GMG delivers its typical quality color management standards and powerful productivity features. GMG ProductionSuite is comprised of various modules. The GMG ProductionSuite Editor is the application’s main interface with simple, intuitive tools that significantly reduce processing time and eliminate errors. In Editor, all files can be prepared and verified easily. Since it shows the printed result even prior to ripping, errors can be caught in the pre-rip phase. It takes just a few mouse clicks to define and position pockets, hems, grommets and pole pockets—or to modify individual images, texts, graphics, or other elements. The GMG ProductionSuite RIP runs in the background. The integrated SmartProfiler can identically align several printers even using different substrates thanks to GMG’s revolutionary MX technology. With this GMG MX technology, spot colors can be matched precisely to the printer’s color gamut and remains consistent even if the printer shifts. The GMG ProductionSuite PrintStation can easily nest and gang files for production as to ensure the most economical use of material and efficient cutting.
With additional options, such as Industrial Cutting, True Shape Nesting, Screen and Variable Data Printing, GMG ProductionSuite provides solutions for the unique requirements of the large and wide format digital printing market.
GMG color management offers unparalleled accurate color for companies using both digital and analog printing processes
The GMG color management solution combining GMG ColorServer and GMG SmartProfiler offers centrally controlled color management of print jobs. Companies working with large-format print can quickly and efficiently achieve matching color results across the board, whether they are produced by offset, small or large format digital. GMG ColorServer optimally converts colors– including spot colors–to the color space of the required output devices. An ISO Coated V2 appearance can easily be produced on a wide format digital printer, in order to obtain a visual match with offset printing. GMG SmartProfiler, along with a measuring device, calibrates a wide range of large-format printers, to create high-quality GMG ColorServer profiles.
GMG OpenColor creates high-quality multicolor profiles that simulate the printing behavior of diverse printing technologies like offset, gravure and flexo, media types, and screens–if necessary, without having to go through the lengthy and expensive process or press fingerprinting. Up to now it has been impossible to correctly predict spot color overprint behavior; certainly without press fingerprinting. As spot colors and spot color overprint effects are crucial to packaging, there must be the ability to simulate these behaviors, a big challenge for printers. GMG OpenColor now addresses this complex problem, resolving CPC color accuracy expectations across different printing processes and numerous converters.
GMG sponsors the International Conference on Visual Communication and Digital Printing
GMG is also a sponsor of the International Conference on Visual Communication and Digital Printing. On March 13, from 15:00 to 16:00 in the Auditorium, Bart Fret, GMG Americas Director of Sales, Large Format and Paulo Monteiro, GMG Business Director, Latin America, will offer a presentation titled ‘Optimizing the workflow in large format digital printing.’ Monteiro and Fret will discuss the limitations of manual and RIP-centered workflows. They will discuss how to implement an efficient workflow, enabling the optimization of hardware and software in production, resulting in a more productive and profitable business.
“GMG is looking forward to participating at FESPA 2013. We will be demonstrating a wide range of products that were not on display a year ago. In just a year, ProductionSuite has been adopted by quite a number of wide format printers. And, we are already seeing strong interest in OpenColor,” reports Monteiro. “As the trend to digital and wide format printing becomes even more significant, we believe it is vital to offer consistent color between a broad range of print processes. For that reason, GMG believes that GMG ProductionSuite, and GMG OpenColor will continue to be well received—along with our other color management and proofing solutions.”
