GSG offers 3M™ 8900 series carbon fiber and brushed metal overlaminates, which let users create myriad combinations of colors and textures for vehicle wraps and accents.
Designed exclusively for application over other film substrates, these 8900 specialty wrap overlaminates provide design options to enhance the appearance and durability of printed graphics or solid films.
GSG #MMM8900CF100-6025 is 2.5 mil thick and gives the underlying film/graphic to which it’s applied a carbon fiber appearance. The 3.5-mil GSG #MMM8900BR100-6025 creates a brushed metal look. Both products have a kraft paper liner.
Made of cast PVC, the films provide excellent water-resistance (not including immersion) and resist mild alkalis, mild acids and occasional fuel spills. They are suitable for applications including fleet, vehicle, watercraft and transit labels and smooth walls/surfaces.
They apply at temperatures from -65 degrees F to 150 degrees F and feature permanent adhesive, making them unsuitable for direct application to substrates. 3M recommends not stretching these films by more than 130 percent.
