The Arena at Gwinnett Center of Duluth, Georgia, recently installed an integrated light emitting diode (LED) video and scoring system from Daktronics (Nasdaq: DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota. The Arena at Gwinnett Center is home to the Gwinnett Gladiators, a professional minor league hockey team, and is part of a multi-venue facility which also includes a performing arts and convention center.
“Gwinnett Center is thrilled to partner with Daktronics on our recent scoring system and video display upgrades,” said Assistant General Manager Ron Jackson. “Daktronics sets the industry standard for technical innovation and reliability in scoring systems. Additionally, the LED video displays are visually impressive and make the venue more appealing to the public.”
All fans attending one of the many concert and sporting events the arena now hosts enjoy two LED endwall displays from Daktronics. Each display utilizes 15 millimeter pixel technology and measures twelve feet tall by more than thirty-one feet wide. These video displays will inform and entertain fans with in-game statistics, sponsor information and colorful animations in addition to streaming live and recorded video.
Included as part of the installation was a custom LED scoreboard to fit the needs of Gwinnett Center. This scoreboard displays a wide range of in-game information such as time remaining in period and score. Depending on the sport being played, it can also show shots on goal, yards remaining or individual foul information.
All of these products are operated with the assistance of Daktronics powerful Show Control System. Touted by experts as the best in the industry, the system provides a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a user-friendly production solution.
