Heinz Field and the Pittsburgh Steelers are committed to improving the fan experience at home games in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as they continue their partnership with Daktronics, Inc., of Brookings, South Dakota, to install a new LED video display in the northwest corner of their facility.
“We are thrilled our partnership with Daktronics has given us the opportunity to enhance our fans’ experience with the addition of the new scoreboard in the Northwest End Zone of Heinz Field,” said Steelers Executive Director of Stadium Management Jimmie Sacco.
The new display will feature a 13HD pixel layout and measure approximately 35 feet high-by-72 feet wide. It is capable of highlighting live video and instant replays, while also being able to be divided into multiple separate windows to show a variety of statistics, scoring information, graphics and animations, and sponsor messages.
The technology incorporates wide angle visibility for viewing throughout the stadium with excellent image clarity and contrasts. It includes multiple levels of protection from the outdoor elements keeping the display running during common football conditions such as rain, sleet or snow.
“We’re excited to continue our long-standing partnership with the Pittsburg Steelers and Heinz Field with this upcoming installation of an additional video display at Heinz Field,” said Daktronics Vice President of Live Events Jay Parker. “It will be great to see the effect the display on the game-day experience when football resumes this fall.”
This new display will easily fit into the existing display system. With Daktronics powerful control equipment, the display can easily be controlled on its own or in conjunction with multiple displays in and around the facility for maximum versatility and impact.
