The innovations in digital printing equipment has led to a variety of cutter and finishing options. A new white paper from the International Sign Association can help sign and graphics companies explore the many options that today’s technology allows.
The white paper, prepared by InfoTrends and sponsored by MCT Technologies, explores digital finishing trends and costs. It also assesses the key factors driving growth and details the specifications of a number of cutters on the market.
“Product finishing has always been a necessary part of the manufacturing process for digital print facilities,” InfoTrends reports. “With the wider array of materials that can be successfully printed, fabric print growth and increased print speeds, finishing without a cutter is becoming economically imprudent.”
Wide Format Cutting Devices is the latest in a series of white papers aimed at exploring the technology and growth in the wide format sector. Late last year, ISA released two complementary reports, Digital Print Substrates: An Overview for Sign and Graphics Companies and Digital Textile Printing Opportunities for Sign Companies. They, along with the white paper on cutting devices, are available at www.signs.org/research. All are free for ISA and Affiliated Association members, or $24.95 each for non-members.
