Lindsay Hingst Awarded Doctoral Degree

Lindsay Hingst of Valparaiso, Indiana was awarded her doctoral degree at the 2017 Spring Commencement Ceremony at Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan on Saturday, April 29. While at Michigan Tech, Dr. Hingst majored in Rhetoric, Theory & Culture. In the Spring of 2016 the MTU Graduate School bestowed upon Dr. Hingst  the Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award. Lindsay Hingst is the daughter of Sign Builder Illustrated Contributing Writer Jim Hingst.

Prior to pursuing her doctoral degree, Dr. Hingst was a professor in the Communication Department at Purdue University Calumet in Hammond, Indiana and taught at Prairie State College in Chicago Heights, Illinois. Hingst, who plays piano, clarinet, and the guitar, has also been a music instructor.

Dr. Hingst has also earned Masters Degrees in English from Illinois State University in Bloomington, Illinois and in Communication at Purdue University. In addition, Hingst received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Drawing and Design at Illinois State University.
