EFI has acquired the Edmonds, Washington-based automated print planning and imposition technology company operating as Metrix Software. EFI will be continuing development and customer support activities for all of Metrix’s software products. Metrix’s technology offering will also expand to serve as an integrated impositioning module for EFI’s Pace™ MIS product. Over time, Metrix’s technology will also become integrated with EFI’s other MIS and ERP workflow offerings. EFI plans on continuing Metrix’s existing reseller and channel arrangements.\
Global Imaging has hired David Dawson as technical services manager. He will build an expert technical team through developing and implementing a strategic training curriculum. He will also have overall supervision of customer support efforts, ensuring that teams of individuals are technically trained and can efficiently and professionally provide installations and technical support for Global’s entire portfolio of wide and grand format equipment. Dawson has extensive experience as a technical support manager, customer service manager and call center director in various IT and software companies throughout Colorado. Global Imaging has also hired Leslie Hermann as workflow studio production and application specialist. Hermann will be responsible for the maintenance of all equipment, the production of all samples, and assist in the on-site selling efforts of Global’s Workflow Studio. Hermann has previously managed and overseen the efficient operation and maintenance of all printing and production equipment at various printing companies.
Sign Effectz, Inc. has hired Jerry Rossetti as project manager. He makes sure the sign service and install teams are set up for the next day and ensures the necessary materials and tools are ready. He also sees that the trucks are up to maintenance standards and that the ladders and safety equipment are in top shape. He previously managed utility projects such as reconditioning water towers and infrastructure in Texas and retrofitting ballast tanks on oil freighters in Africa.
