Reach-All LLC announces the addition of a new aerial work platform, the CraneMate 5×500, to its line of work platforms especially relevant for the sign industry. The platform is a lighter, more compact unit than previous models—measuring five feet long with a five hundred pound capacity. The CraneMate 5×500 is intended for use with some smaller boom trucks and aerial cranes.
The family of CraneMate ™ platforms are the industry’s only work platform with self contained hydraulics.
Phil McCrary, general manager of Berlin Sign Company in Venice, Florida, has used the new platform and says it is a winner. “The full rotation allows better platform positioning and lets us do more work in less hours. That results in eliminating extra set up, travel and work time,” he said. “But what we like the most is the built-in safety capabilities. After all, you can replace a platform, but good workers are our most valuable asset.”
The new platform also greatly reduces costly repairs and down-time due to its modular design. If in the workplace the platform becomes damaged, the repair involves a simple swap out of the component—no custom welding or recertification of the repairs.
Standard features include:
Hydraulic-powered auto leveling. This provides safety for personnel and stability of payloads. The platform will level regardless of the location of the payload inside the platform and independently of where it is rotationally positioned.
180-Degree Full Platform Rotation with proportional controls enable excellent positioning of the platform to work areas and prevents workers from bunching up at one corner of the platform and stretching unsafely to those hard-to-reach areas. When combined into one package, auto hydraulic leveling and 180-degree hydraulic rotation enables one or two workers to safely position the loaded platform alongside and safely remove objects from the work area into the platform. Once loaded the crane and platform can be repositioned to a new location or to the ground without being tilted out of level.
The “stow and go” feature allows the platform to be attached and positioned to the crane tip for safe road travel. This reduces set up at the job site and lessens the risk of an on-site accident. Attachment design allows access to different types of crane vehicles for choices to suit the job site terrain. You are not held captive to a specific type of vehicle.
CraneMate’s features and options increase the possibility to update your crane to meet ANSI 92.2 requirements and avoid the stringent regulations imposed by OSHA’s 29 CFR 1926 rules.
