Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has partnered with Coastal Carolina University (CCU) to design, manufacture, and install a new LED video display and scoreboard at Spring-Brooks Stadium in Conway, South Carolina. Chanticleer fans have been enjoying the new equipment since early 2015 when the installation was completed.
The new video display measures 13 feet high-by-24 feet wide and features a 15HD pixel layout. It features variable content zoning to highlight one large image for live video and instant replays, or to section the display into multiple windows to show a variety of graphics, animations, up-to-the-minute statistics, sponsor messages and other game information.
The standard fixed-digit scoreboard measures more than 9 feet high-by-36 feet wide and shows standard baseball statistical information such as runs, hits, errors, inning-by-inning scoring and more.
“We’re excited about this opportunity to build upon our longstanding relationship with Coastal Carolina University. It’s been a great partnership that spans nearly three decades now,” said Corey Williams, Daktronics sales representative. “The university has an outstanding baseball program and Spring-Brooks Stadium is amongst the country’s best collegiate baseball stadiums with this installation. The new scoreboard adds an extra entertainment element to the facility that enhances the game-day experience for the fans.”
Daktronics installed a custom distributed audio system that is integrated with the video and scoring system. The system provides full-range audio reproduction and delivers clear and intelligible speech for a powerful experience for fans.
In addition to the equipment installation, CCU will also be receiving a bank of hours for the creation of digital content to be produced by Daktronics Creative Services, Daktronics in-house, award-winning creative team. Any mixture of content pieces will be created and delivered at the request of the university.
