Orbus Exhibit & Display Group™, one of North America’s leading trade suppliers of display, exhibit and event solutions is honored to announce that the company has donated thousands of dollars’ worth of toys to the DuPage County Toys for Tots program.
The company raised over $4,000 in contributions and volunteers went shopping for toys that filled up nearly an entire truck load. The toys will be distributed to children in need across DuPage County, Illinois during the week of December 22nd.
Throughout the year, and particularly during the holiday season, Orbus strives to contribute to charities in the surrounding areas of its two manufacturing and production locations in Woodridge, IL and Las Vegas, NV. The DuPage County Toys for Tots program, which aims to provide a new toy to disadvantaged children at Christmastime to share and spread a message of hope, was an ideal choice for 2014
. Orbus employees fundraised the week of December 8th, gathering $1,850 to be put towards the purchase of toys. A corporate match raised the total to just over $4,000.
After funds were collected, a team of Orbus employees went shopping for toys that would fit the needs of the Toys for Tots program, gathering and packing into large boxes in
the lobby of the Woodridge facility. Employees were also encouraged to bring toy donations to add. On Friday, December 12th, Marine LCpl Steven Collins accompanied a truck pickup of the boxes of toys from Orbus. The toys, taken to a local warehouse, will be sorted for distribution and handed out to the disadvantaged children in the county. After all children in DuPage County who are in need receive a toy, any overflow will then be sent to other counties in need.
Orbus is honored to have participated in the fundraising for, collection and donation of toys for the 2014 DuPage County Toys for Tots program.
