PrinterEvolution, the Colorado-based grand format printer manufacturer, has introduced two new digital textile printers that are turnkey solutions to industrial high quality, high production printing.
Digital printed textiles worldwide in 2013 accounted for about $6 billion in print value, which will grow at 30 percent CAGR until 2018. The introduction of the Kayo126 DS (pictured) and the Eos100 DS industrial textile printers are the latest in PrinterEvolution’s continuing effort to keep up with new technology demand by delivering new, innovative, high performance products.
The Kayo126 DS is an industrial-built, water-based dye sub printer solely dedicated to printing on transfer paper. The printer is specifically designed to streamline the workflow with a single substrate and no need to rebuild ink profiles and settings. With speeds that outperform anything comparable on the market today, the Kayo126 DS is reliable and consistent, performing at 850 sqft./hr. Ricoh Gen 4 state-of-the-art variable drop heads provide accurate, gorgeous, rich color and because they have a longer life, they excel at fulfilling high volume industrial requirements.
“As demand increases for high-end fabric graphics, the Kayo126 focuses on providing high quality printing on transfer paper at high production speeds. All of its components, from the large bulk ink system to the upgradable industrial heads work together to provide beautiful, consistent results,” said Mike Syverson, Director of Special Projects for PrinterEvolution.
Adding to its efficiencies, The Kayo126 accommodates jumbo paper rolls alleviating the need to switch out paper as often. Once printed on paper, the user can sublimate to many fabrics. The Kayo’s advanced media feeding system uses servo motors instead of pinchers and belts and its multiple drying systems and advanced technology fast-dry the paper for perfect linear drying without defects.
The second product introduction, The Eos100 DS, makes entry or expansion into the digital textile printing market easy and affordable. With an on-board calender providing even heat and pressure, the Eos100 DS’s complete print to sublimate capabilities deliver fast, high quality results. “There’s no need for a separate calender or heat press and the option of in-line cutting and a variety of printhead configurations produce beautiful images and high volume output,” Syverson said.
The Eos100 DS is a highly productive and durable direct to fabric printer with other built-in efficiencies like an automatic turn-off control which will finish the curing and shut off the calendar automatically when the printer is unattended. The Eos also offers a high capacity bulk ink system for continuous printing and high ink yields. A cork roller accommodates printing on stretchable fabrics like Lycra, spandex and other sports textiles and a smart trough and sponge system allows users to print on open-weave products like mesh and flag without marking the back with “blow-by” ink.
