Specialty imagers came together last week for SGIA’s Color Management Boot Camp, where industry experts, Tony Quinn, of Nazdar, and SGIA’s own Jeff Burton helped students make large-format inkjet color management work for them.
“Our focused, small-class setting allows students to master color management,” said Burton. “With representatives from Caldera and X-Rite also onsite, students came away with a broad range of industry knowledge and real world examples.”
Though some color concepts are common across the printing industry, this exclusive Workshop concentrated on the unique aspects of large format. New recruits included business owners and production personnel eager to learn how to set up and maintain a color-managed workflow in a production environment.
If you missed it this time, don’t worry! The popular Color Management Boot Camp will return. Monitor SGIA.org, Keyword: Events, for more information about this and other educational opportunities from SGIA.
SGIA headquarters isn’t the only place for a color education. Visit the Color Management Zone at the 2012 SGIA Expo (Las Vegas, October 18–20) next month, where attendees can learn about color management tools and techniques, as well as RIP and third-party software solutions in free sessions presented by select industry color experts.
