sgialogo.macSGIA’s workshop “Screen Making: Basic to Professional” is back and will be held June 27-July 1 at SGIA’s state-of-the-art laboratory located in Fairfax, Virginia. The weeklong workshop tackles the how and why of screen making for virtually any job and covers the fundamentals for every level.

Instructors Art Dobie, Sefar Printing Solutions Inc; Dave Dennings, KIWO Inc; and Ray Greenwood, SGIA, will challenge every student by combining hands-on experience with supporting theory. These industry experts will begin with the basics then move to cutting-edge technology. They will also discuss proven techniques that save time and money, including:

  • Methods for choosing the right mesh
  • Proper stretching procedures
  • Correct stencil application
  • Techniques for determining optimum stencil exposure
  • Troubleshooting results

“I expected to learn the basic understanding of screen making methods, and in my opinion, this goal was completely achieved. As I was a novice to the industry, it was a great step for me to understand industrial screen printing applications,” said past attendee Konstantin Radionov of The Solar Venture.

The workshop is limited to twelve students, and registration is $749 for SGIA members and $899 for nonmembers. To register or for more information, visit www.sgia.org.
