Being able to easily navigate today’s retail stores is key to improving customer experience. Retailers and designers looking for effective strategies can find insights from some of the top retailers in new research from the Signage Foundation. “Retail Wayfinding Best Practices” includes case studies from industry leading retailers and restaurants, such as Wegmans, Shake Shack, Walgreens, TD Bank, and URBN, among others. The research also includes discussion of visual merchandising strategies, digital wayfinding, and branded architecture.
Craig Berger, Chair, Visual Presentation and Exhibition Design, Fashion Institute of Technology, edited the study, which sought insight from industry leaders in architecture and design.
“‘Retail Wayfinding Best Practices’ joins the growing body of research aimed at helping to create understanding between the sign and graphics industry, designers and retailers,” said Duane Laska, SFI Board of Trustees chair. “Readers will find keen insight into strategy and store designs, effective retail signs and wayfinding methods.”
“Retail Wayfinding Best Practices” is available in the SFI research library. It joins another recent project from Berger, “Retail Signage: Best Practices to Increase Return on Investment.”
