Trans-Lux Corporation continues the company’s pioneering role in developing the LED display landscape of New York’s Times Square area and theater district. Most recently, Trans-Lux TL Vision LED displays were installed at URBO, the eclectic 26,000-square-foot restaurant located at Eleven Times Square, which opened in July 2014, and features five restaurants with 600 seats on three levels. The new TL Vision HD 8mm LED displays adorning the exterior of the restaurant are the first phase of a three-phase LED project for URBO employing Trans-Lux LED solutions.
Phases two and three will deliver even more dynamic LED display solutions, including a massive LED ribbon and LED water tower plus two large-screen LED displays. The estimated value of the project is over $2.5 million.
“URBO offers a unique environment designed to cater to a very diverse clientele consisting of native New Yorkers who work and live in the area, and the millions of tourists who pass through Times Square every year. Our TL Vision LED displays provide a highly visible and effective media platform to engage and drive customer traffic with HD quality imagery and messaging,” said J.M. Allain, president and chief executive officer, Trans-Lux. “Trans-Lux was first to bring LED technology to the Times Square area, and we continue to deliver new and innovative LED display and lighting solutions to help maintain its reputation as the crossroads of the world.”
Trans-Lux continues to establish new benchmarks in LED display performance and efficiency. Recent innovations include: TL Vision LED Cabinet Systems that virtually eliminate common alignment issues, expedite display set-up time and reduce overall costs (view our TL Vision LED Cabinet Systems demonstration video at www.vimeo.com/65175095); the world’s first and only 1.5mm pitch LED display that rivals HD flat screen image quality and is “already ready” for 4K resolution LED display imaging; and the epic™ Series LED System Software Suite that makes LED display set-up, control and content management easier and more efficient.
