The University of Louisiana has partnered with Daktronics Inc., of Brookings, South Dakota, for a new LED video display at Cajun Field on campus in Lafayette, Louisiana. The upgrade in visual equipment will boost the overall experience for everyone in the stadium on game day.
“Enhancing the game experience for our fans and sponsors at Cajun Field has been a priority for us and we are excited to partner with Daktronics with the addition of a new state-of-the-art video board,” said Director of Athletics Scott Farmer. “With tremendous success on the football field during the past three seasons, the new video board will provide us with opportunities to engage Ragin’ Cajuns fans while creating new inventory and adding value for our loyal sponsors.”
The new video display will feature a 15HD pixel layout and measure 30 feet tall-by-54 feet wide. It will feature exceptional contrast for excellent image clarity and pristine graphics while providing wide angle visibility to appeal to every seat in the stadium. The technology also includes multiple levels of protection from the elements in an outdoor setting.
The display can be configured to show one large image for live video and instant replays, but can also be divided into multiple sections to show a variety of graphics and animations, statistics and scoring information, and advertising and sponsorship messages.
“Daktronics is proud to partner with the University of Louisiana athletics on their new football video display,” said Andrew Rice, Daktronics sales representative. “This state-of-the-art display will really enhance what is already a great game-day experience. It will be exciting to see the completed installation when football returns this fall.”
The Ragin’ Cajuns will also be receiving the creation of digital content to be provided by Daktronics Creative Services, an award-winning in-house creative team. The content will be created and delivered at the request of the university.
