Roland Academy, the training and education division of Roland DGA Corp., has announced a new two-part Tips & Tricks webinar series to be held December 11 and 18, discussing valuable new features in the company’s VersaWorks RIP software.
The webinar series will take an in-depth look at brand new VersaWorks features, starting with an overview of the software’s new spot color replacement feature December 11, and followed by a discussion of the new built-in PANTONE libraries December 18.
With the new spot color replacement feature, users can quickly and easily replace any defined spot color from a design file with another spot color from one of VersaWorks’ spot color libraries—all without accessing the source file. With VersaWorks, users have access to sixteen spot color libraries total, including six new PANTONE libraries and the Roland Color System, Roland’s own spot color matching solution featuring more than 1,500 traditional and metallic hues.
The new PANTONE libraries allow users to quickly and easily convert any PANTONE color from a design file to a CMYK value that can be reproduced on any Roland inkjet device. This simplified workflow significantly reduces the amount of time required for color matching and enables quick output of specific colors when working with properly profiled media.
“Spot color management features with this level of functionality are typically found only in the industry’s most advanced and expensive RIP software,” said Dana Curtis, product manager for Roland DGA Corp. “We are proud to offer these new tools and other powerful VersaWorks features to our digital printing customers free of charge, helping them improve their productivity, explore new design options, and maximize their technology investments.”
This VersaWorks Tips & Tricks webinar series comes on the heels of a significant Roland Academy milestone. Since its inception in early 2011, the Roland Academy webinar program has attracted more than 5,000 attendees.
Roland Academy attendees can choose from a wide range of topics, including color management, file preparation, advanced software workflows, metallic inkjet printing, gift engraving, serialization, apparel decoration and subtractive rapid prototyping (SRP).
