The Nashville Metropolitan Council rejected a bid to install signage for country singer Morgan Wallen’s new namesake bar. Watch the video above, starting at the 2:01:00 mark, to see the city council members vote and discuss their opinions on the matter.

Wallen, whose song with Post Malone currently sits at #1 on the Billboard chart, has a highly controversial personal life. Last month, he put civilians and police officers in danger by tossing a chair off a bar’s rooftop, according to published reports. In 2021, he was shown shouting racial slurs on video. These incidents and the singer’s local notoriety led to city council’s decision to reject the bid to install signage at his new bar, Morgan Wallen’s This Bar and Tennessee Kitchen.

The bid would have authorized the installation of a large, street-facing illuminated sign on the 4th Avenue Property LLC-owned bar.
