Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions and the Porsche Club of America (PCA) have announced that Mark Hubley won an Avery Dennison® Supreme Wrapping Film color change wrap for his silver 1987 Porsche 924S in the “Win a Wrap” contest, open to Porsche owners in the Mid-Atlantic region.
“I’ve had the Porsche 924S for a year and a half now. It runs great and I’m really happy with it but the paint is faded and tired,” said Hubley, a member of the Chesapeake Region of the PCA since 1999. “I like my cars to look good and when I saw the ‘Win a Wrap’ contest, it sounded like a great opportunity and I entered.”
In order to match the popular Guards Red color for Porsches, Hubley’s 924S was wrapped with Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping Film in Carmine Red by Arizona Designs http://www.arizonadesigns.com of South Maple Shade, New Jersey. Supreme Wrapping Films are used to change the color of vehicles or create partial wraps, providing a finish similar to paint for vehicles and trucks.
“I’m thrilled that my car is a bright, new color and the wrap looks just like paint,” said Hubley. “It’s an amazing transformation and if I get tired of the color or want to sell the car, the original paint is intact.”
A key advantage of a paint wrap is that it can easily be removed if an individual tires of the wrap or if a company rebrands. The original paint on the car will look virtually the same as the day the wrap was installed. A car wrap can also be more affordable than a custom paint job and easier to maintain.
“At the PCA, we’re committed to constantly bringing new information and options to our members across the country,” said Vu Nguyen, executive director of the Porsche Club of America, the largest single marquee car club with over 107,000 members in the U.S. “Working with Avery Dennison and Arizona Designs on the ‘Win a Wrap’ contest was a great learning opportunity for our organization and members. And, thanks to Avery Dennison, Mark’s 924S is a vibrant new color.”
Avery Dennison recently added thirteen matte and brushed metallic colors to the thirty-three colors already available in the Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping Films product line. Supreme Wrapping Films are constructed with a cast color layer and a clear layer, so no overlaminate is needed. They feature Easy Apply RS™ technology which allows the installer to easily reposition and slide the film into place and reduce air bubbles, minimizing the total application time for the wrap.
Full color change wraps can be accented with Avery Dennison® Conform Chrome Accent Film, by applying it to special features on the car such as side-view mirrors, striping and door handles.
Avery Dennison connects consumers and small businesses with car wrap installers through CarWraps.net, http://www.CarWraps.net an easy-to-use Web site that makes it convenient to get information on personalizing or branding their car with vinyl wrap materials. Consumers can learn about color wrap options as well as locate a pre-screened and certified installer near them and request a quotation on a vehicle wrap.
